Viera is one of Florida's best-known master-planned communities, set along Interstate 95 in central Brevard County on the Space Coast. Developed by The Viera Company, a subsidiary of the A. Duda & Sons family business, on former cattle-ranch land, Viera broke ground in 1989 and has grown into a community of neighborhoods, parks, schools, shopping and the Brevard County government center. Roughly half of the original land plan was set aside for conservation, so wetlands, trails and open space are part of everyday life here.
Viera is divided into Viera East and Viera West, each with dozens of individual neighborhoods, plus the newer Viera South area and villages such as Addison Village. At the 2020 census, Viera East and Viera West together were home to about 28,000 residents. Housing ranges from condominiums and townhomes to single-family homes, golf-course homes, newer construction and several 55+ active adult communities. Most Viera addresses use a Melbourne or Rockledge mailing address, with zip codes 32940 and 32955.
The Brevard County Government Center sits in Viera, with county commission offices, the Harry T. and Harriette V. Moore Justice Center and the School Board offices, which makes Viera a practical home base for anyone who works with the county.
As of October 2026, the homes for sale in Viera shown on this site are mostly newer single-family homes in Addison Village and surrounding neighborhoods, listed from about $520,000 to about $970,000, with an average of four bedrooms and roughly 2,300 square feet. Recent sales on this site range from condominiums in the $140,000s at Highlands Viera to newer five-bedroom homes near $1 million in neighborhoods such as Trasona, Reeling Park and Pangea Park.
The Avenue Viera, an open-air town center that opened in 2004, offers more than 100 shops and restaurants plus a movie theater. Viera also hosts community events throughout the year, including the Great American Celebration in July and the Light Up Viera parade in December.
Viera is served by Brevard Public Schools. Public schools in the community include Ralph M. Williams Jr., Manatee, Quest and Viera Elementary schools and Viera High School, which opened in 2006 and reported a 98% graduation rate in 2024. Families also have charter and private options, including Viera Charter School (K-8) and Pinecrest Academy Space Coast. School assignments vary by neighborhood, so please confirm with the Brevard Public Schools boundary locator for any specific address.
Viera borders about eight miles of I-95, with easy access to State Road 404 (Pineda Causeway) toward the beaches and Patrick Space Force Base, Melbourne Orlando International Airport, and the rest of the Space Coast. Brevard County's first Park-N-Ride lot is located in Viera.
Whether you are relocating to the Space Coast, looking for new construction, or want to know what your Viera home is worth, I would be happy to help. Sign up for listing alerts using the search above, request a free home valuation, or contact me directly.
