Western Palm Beach County is one of the most affordable places in South Florida to own real land. This page shows every single-family home in Loxahatchee and Loxahatchee Groves, including The Acreage, on one acre (43,560 sq ft) or more, updated from the MLS throughout the day.
According to the Historical Society of Palm Beach County, Food Fair founder Samuel Friedland bought the roughly 100-square-mile Indian Trail Ranch in 1956. The Indian Trail Water Control District, today's Indian Trail Improvement District, was created in 1957 to build and maintain the area's canals and roads, and lots of about an acre were sold off for a few thousand dollars each. Most of today's 40,000-plus residents live on lots of one acre or larger, with room for horses, gardens and workshops.
Next door, part of Loxahatchee incorporated as the Town of Loxahatchee Groves in 2006. It is known for equestrian properties and five-acre and larger parcels, with communities such as Fox Trail, Deer Run and White Fences. The area is also home to Lion Country Safari, and Wellington's show grounds are a short drive away.
