Parkland's largest master-planned community, built from the late 1990s through the 2010s, with gated villages, lakes, a clubhouse and recreation for residents. Each village has its own page.
Mostly built since 2010, with modern floor plans, impact glass and resort-style clubhouses.
Family neighborhoods built mainly in the late 1980s through the early 2000s, many gated, with mature trees, lakes and larger lots than you will find in newer communities. Several have no HOA or a low one; check each property.
Parkland began as ranch land, and this is where that heritage shows: one-acre-plus lots, custom estates and room for horses, pools and guest houses where zoning allows.
Parkland's most accessible price points, with less yard work.
Parkland was founded in 1963 on former ranch land, and horses once outnumbered residents. City zoning still aims to protect its park-like character, so you will find low-rise neighborhoods, landscaped streets, lakes and green space rather than high-rises. Homes range from 1990s family neighborhoods and gated golf communities to newer resort-style developments and multi-acre custom estates.

Public schools are run by Broward County Public Schools. Most of the city is zoned to Riverglades, Park Trails or Heron Heights elementary schools, Westglades Middle School and Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, with small areas zoned to Coral Springs schools. Assignments vary by street, so check the district's boundary locator for any home you are considering. Several private schools are a short drive away in Coral Springs, Coconut Creek and Boca Raton.
The city maintains 11 parks with trails for families, dogs and horses, plus a city library. Pine Trails Park and Terramar Park are the main hubs for youth sports and playgrounds, and many communities add their own clubhouses, pools and tennis. Golfers can look at Parkland Golf & Country Club and nearby clubs in Coral Springs and Boca Raton.
Parkland is about 30 miles north of downtown Fort Lauderdale. The Sawgrass Expressway and Florida's Turnpike are close by for commutes across Broward and Palm Beach counties, and shopping and dining along Hillsboro Boulevard, Coral Springs and west Boca Raton are minutes away.
